Chinese Mitten Crab

Invasive Species Alert: Chinese Mitten Crab. Chinese mitten crabs (Eriocheir sinensis) pose a serious threat to the ecology and economy of the Gulf of Maine. While we have not yet documented a mitten crab here, they have been advancing northward along the east coast and to date have reached as far as north as Connecticut.
